This new site was created mainly for our members and to attract new members to the club. Stanborough Lakes on Peg 1 this week had a haul of 40 Carp!! While a 30Ib Carp came out down by the tow path side. Plenty of fish feeding and being caught which is great news..!

Recent Holwell Hyde lake additions in 2021 are three Catfish - moved from Fairland’s Lake Stevenage - weighting in at 58lb, 28lb and 20lb respectively.

Fairland’s Night Fishing is back on!
Pre book and pre pay only 07719 277 443. Generally been fishing well with a few 20lb carp fish hauls in a few day sessions, biggest being 31lb.
A Reminder about Dip Tanks on Club Waters
Following CEFAS recommendations there are compulsory dip tanks on club waters which must be used before and after angling. (To be used for all nets, weigh slings and unhooking mats).
Failure to adhere to this ruling could lead to being banned from the fishery.

De Haviland Lake
New platform work begins
As from Saturday 30th June and every other Saturday morning thereafter 9am til 12noon - work will take place to rebuild the platforms, all help will be gratefully welcomed! Thank you.

Catch update
Holwell Hyde has been fishing really well recently, and on a Tuesday night session in June the 31lb and 43lb catfish was caught.

A reminder of the current situation
All anglers must hold a current WGCAC membership card and ID card or non members must pre book to fish day or night tickets to fish the lakes.
These must be produced to any of the bailiff team.
Carry your cards at all times please. (No exceptions or excuses)
Day and night tickets are now available to non members. If you want to book days or nights please contact Jeff on 07968 821826 .
All members can fish the lakes but do so at their own risk. Some platforms are unsafe and in urgent need of repair so please be careful.
No spodding allowed on the lake.
All fish to be returned to the water straight away. (Where they were caught)

Work update - Holwell Hyde
Looks like all the hard work done down Holwell Hyde by Dave and all involved over the year has really paid off, the two new swims down the beach end look great! Most of the rubbish has been cleared too now, so If you could all remember to take your rubbish home with your when leaving your fishing sessions it would be much appreciated. Let's keep all our waters clean and tidy please! Thank you for your cooperation.

3 Carp rods now permitted
WGCAC Rule Change:
3 carp rods are now permitted all year round on day ticket waters (Members are required to purchase a day ticket for 3rd rod). Don't forget you will need your rod licences too!
New members bridge
We recently commissioned the build of a new bridge in the members section of the river - just after the train bridge gate. Thanks to all the lads involved for an solid superb build.

Recently added fish stock to lakes
We recently added new fish stock to both Stanborough and Fairlands lakes respectively. The fish stocks introduced at the end of 2016 – was a mixture of Bream, Roach and Carp. Further restocking is envisaged in 2017.
